Travel OptionsThere are three real travel options for the Monaco Grand Prix and the option you choose depends on the type of traveler you are.
Are you a novice or seasoned traveler? Are you detail oriented and happy to arrange all travel and accommodation, or would you prefer the only decision you need to make be whether to have the fish or chicken on your flight? The three travel options for the Monaco F1 Grand Prix are either (flight/accommodation/ticket/car hire) Travel Packages, a Packaged Tour, or Independent Travel. Each have pros and cons, and as with all pros and cons, one man’s meat is another man’s poison – meaning, what may be a con for one person may be a pro for someone else. Personally, I have tried all three – and I’ve even created my own Tours where I’ve taken both novice and seasoned travelers, young and old, a competition winner who could never have afforded the trip themselves, and a multi-millionaire. All of which proves that a packaged Tour is my favoured option – and no, I’m not trying to sell you on one of my Tours because I no longer run them. The independent option is the most difficult and time consuming one to attempt, and despite popular belief, it can actually be the most expensive (if it’s your first time to the Monaco Grand Prix). And as far as value for money is concerned, it all depends on your value criteria. However, considering you need to arrange all travel to and around the Riviera, accommodation, race tickets, all your meals, and what to see and do within a given timeframe, you still have the benefit of choice and choice is one benefit that can make it all worthwhile. Especially when your choices include options that range from campsites to private villas with your own maid – private villas that can be far less expensive that most hotels!
I have detailed each of the travel options on their own page. It’s worth taking a look at all three package, tours, and independent before you decide the best one for you. And despite what I’ve just said about first timers attempting to go independent, I have included all the tips and details you’ll need to create a successful (and great value) independent package. |
